Going Home For Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is here - and for many of us that means turkey with all the trimmings, getting together with family and friends, and giving thanks for all the blessings in our lives. Hopefully your holiday will be a restful one - and not filled with so much of the stress that creeps into our lives this time of year!

Every year around this time I HAVE to watch one of my all time favorite movies...Planes, Trains, & Automobiles. If you get a free 90 minutes - give it a rent this week. It's a John Hughes movie starring Steve Martin and the late John Candy. Make no mistake about it - this is a comedy. In fact it's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. But it's much more than that. The movie has a certain warmness and truth that really hits straight to the heart. It tells the story of two strangers both trying to make their way home to Chicago in time for Thanksgiving. They encounter one travel pitfall after another with hilarious results - many of which we can all relate to. Steve Martin's and John Candy's characters couldn't be more different on the surface - but they both learn a lot about themselves and each other along the way. In my view - this is an all-time classic movie. But don't take my word for it! CLICK HERE to see what Roger Ebert has to say about it!

Sincerest wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving!
